- The Hill and Wood
-
Back in the summer of 2009 The Hill and Wood was widely considered to be one of Charlottesville's leading bands. The distinct melodies, soaring harmonies and broad range of instrumentation allowed the group to find a unique niche in the ever-expanding folk/rock genre. The group as we once knew it, however, disbanded after the foursome agreed to each pursue their own musical projects. Having completely reinvented the group's lineup, frontman Sam Bush has apparently picked the torch back up and the Hill and Wood has taken on a new life.
While some of the older songs are still to be expected at shows, the
new group seems to be more forward thinking than nostalgic, having
developed a fuller, more dynamic sound. Set to record an EP this
summer, it seems the band is in its most exciting chapter yet."
